Expand your knowledge with a Google Earth quiz

Febodd_building_3 I don't know if you ever played the excellent and extremely educational game 'Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?'

It was an edutainment game with the aim of tracking Carmen's villains all round the world by working out (sometimes really hard) clues to find out where they would be next. One minute you'd be chasing the dastardly thief, the next you'd be one step ahead of them. So did you ever play it?

Anyway, this post has little to do with Carmen Sandiego, which is a shame because it would have tied in really well.

In case you feel cheated, the Google Earth team have announced that they've released their first imagery update of 2008.

"It took a full two months for us to get ready for it, but we've finally pushed out the first imagery update of 2008 -- and I hope you'll find that it was worth the wait! Most of the updates in this push are centered around the U.S., though there are a quite a few very high quality updates all around the world."

They also include a short quiz for you to work out where in the world the new cities are that have got updated pictures. Now that's edutainment.
