See the world with iGoogle

I've been wondering for a while now why my iGoogle themes don't do what they claim to do. By that I mean, nearly all the iGoogle themes I use claims to change dynamically as the weather changes in my area, or as the sun goes up and down. Some work, most don't. It makes me :(

So, you'll understand how overjoyed I was when I found out I could install this great looking theme which shows a satellite image of the earth with shade over the parts where its night, light over the parts where its day (don't get me started on the Artic Circle).

Thememanager_2 How does it work? Who knows. How does it work on my iGoogle page? Well you have to add the 'iGoogle Theme Manager' gadget. Add that and it gives you an option to turn of the 'cached' view of your iGoogle page meaning the page takes a little longer to load, but gives you an up to date view.

You can also use the 'Homepage Maximizer' gadget to remove the search query box for a purer view of the earth scene. I did it but suddenly got quite tense and shaky when I realised I was more than a couple of seconds away from the ability to google something. Use it at your peril.

Sure, that's how it starts, all oohs and aaahs. Then comes the running and screaming.
