Waiting for iPhone 2.0 made easier by the Google Mobile Blog

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/google-mobile-app-faster-easier-search.htmlToday is a big day if you are an iPhone user. You'll either love it, or hate it. Today is the day of iPhone updates...in preparation for tomorrows next gen iPhone, a reminder to all those early adopters that it would have been better if they had waited just a little bit longer.

Anyway, the app store is open for business although unless you are brave and put the new software on your iPhone yourself, you still have to wait for the proper release of the iPhone software until you use all these apps.

So, until then, the Google Mac and Mobile blogs have showcased their new iPhone app for you to take a gander at.

"Google Mobile App gives you a single text box to search through your contacts and the web. As soon as you start typing, it scours Google for things to help you. These could be typing suggestions, website suggestions or easy access to a search you made before. Google Mobile App even searches as you type so that you see results as soon as you finish typing. Over time, the App remembers the things you do most and puts them at the top. Finally, Google Mobile App also uses the My Location feature to detect your current location and show nearby businesses on a map."

Unfortunately for the Brits (and others not in the US) you'll have to wait EVEN LONGER for this new app since it's currently only available in the US app store.

If anyone has put the new software on their phone and tried this app, I'd be happy to post pictures/video if you've got them. Otherwise, leave a comment and let everyone know how it looks.
